In the window

Nick Ashford 1941 -2011

Rob created this beautiful papercut, hanging in the Ryantown window right now, as a tribute to Nick Ashford who died last week. Lots of people came in to the shop this weekend especially to comment on it.

And if you don't know his name you will almost certainly know his music. Written by Nick Ashford and his wife Valerie Simpson along with Quincy Jones, you might know this one , which is one of my favourites, but you'll definitely know this!

Happy music indeed.

...made our day!

This is the very lovely Frankie, a 5 month old Boxer, and she was without a doubt, our undisputed top dog of the weekend. She definitely deserved all the fuss she got in the shop. Please come back again!

Cake of The Weekend

Here's this weekend's indulgence. A phenomenally yummy lemon and courgette cake that Caroline and I shared in the shop on wet and windy Saturday.

Wallpaper UPDATE!

Better get those pasting tables at the ready...we will have the new wallpapers in the shop this SATURDAY!.

They are available in 10m x 52cm rolls and are priced at £50 each.

NEW!! 'Other Planets' Screenprint!

....also new in this weekend is a BRAND NEW EDITION of 'Other Planets Cannot Be As Beautiful As This One'.

A signed and numbered edition of 100, and printed in a lovely mint green and raspberry.

This weekend's Top Dogs were Lito, a 13 month old Brussels Griffon and Fritz the 5 year old dachshund. Both adorable and very accommodating while I was faffing about with the camera.

I definitely predict there'll be some serious DIY activity going on all over the country the minute these beautiful wallpapers hit the shop. They Are Truly Gorgeous, and I can't quite decide which colour I love the most, sky blue, chalky violet or Bethnal Green ( ha! it's got to be last one! ).

A collaboration between Rob and Mini Moderns, these wallpapers are printed using water based inks on paper from sustained forests. The design 'Our Adventure Is About To Begin' is based on the endpapers of Rob's forthcoming book ' A Sky Full Of Kindness' ( which will be out in the autumn ).

They will be available on September 10th from Ryantown, our etsy shop and Mini Moderns.

Two Birds Bridesmaid Hankie

We have so many lovely new things coming up, and coming in to the shop, that I hardly know where to start...!
But you may remember these hankies that Rob designed for the company Two Birds Bridesmaid as we had them in the shop last year. They were very popular and we sold out of them pretty quickly, so Rob decided to do another print run. Hooray! The hankies come carefully packaged in these great new hand printed boxes.

We have some brand new keys in the shop at the moment, in five new colours including gold and silver mirrored acrylic. They look absolutely brilliant and are sure to fly out and unlock a few hearts over the next few weeks.

Cake of The Weekend

I have to warn you, my appetite for cake knows no bounds, so it looks like Cake of The Weekend might be a bit of a regular fixture... Charlie chose these little lemon cupcakes from Franze & Evans on Saturday. Absolutely delicious but next week I'm going for something MUCH bigger!!

Now this was a BIG cake! Pretty, and pretty delicious too. Made especially by Barbara for our birthday party a few weeks ago. I've lifted this photograph from her rather wonderful blog , thank you Barbara!

Our Adventure Is About To Begin

We will have a few new things for you in Ryantown this weekend, including this gorgeous ' Our Adventure Is About To Begin ' laser cut. A signed and numbered edition of 500, it comes packaged in a yellow folder all tied up with a pink bow!

This weekend's top dog is the totally adorable Stanley. Totally at ease with the paparazzi, Stanley is 11 months old and a mix of Dachshund and Chiahuahua.

Fashion's Night Out

My lazy, sunny, watermelon eating holiday seems but a distant memory this morning in shell shocked East London...
Anyway, trying to distract myself, here's a sneak preview of the fabulous t shirt Rob has designed for this September's Vogue Fashion's Night Out.
The proceeds of the t shirts will be going to Kids Company , a charity founded by the incredible Camila Batmanghelidjh . When they are available please snap them up, apart from getting yourself a very stylish item of clothing you'll be helping support an organisation that does it's very best to break the cycle of neglect and abuse that can lead to situations like we had last night.
